Consultant Anaesthetist. A University Teaching Hospital have an immediate vacancy for a Consultant Anaesthetist for a 12 month contract. The vacancy was created by a Consultant secondment to a senior management role and is a wonderful opportunity to get experience at Consultant level in a busy public teaching hospital. Working as a team of six Anaesthesiologists, you will work a six week roster which is very well planned out and allows Consultants in Anaesthetics to plan in advance and there is good flexibility within the team to swap shifts also allowing good flexibility. An excellent salary and on call allowance is further bolstered by the opportunity to do private work and opt in to additional lists if interested. The main theatre work done within the hospital are; general theatre, trauma & orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, ENT and some occasional dental theatre. There is also a 5 bed Intensive Care Unit and several HDU beds within the hospital. Based in one of Ireland's most beautiful and scenic areas, renowned for friendly people as well as affordable living, this location will appeal to any Consultant Anaesthetist. The successful Consultant Anaesthetist working in post will be informed and supported with application for any arising permanent post within the department. Essential Requirements: IMC specialist registration or in the process of gaining specialist registration. Relevant postgraduate qualification in Anaesthetics and appropriate fellowship. 7 years experience in Anaesthetics and/or ICU.
