Job Purpose. Fexco Technology Solutions deliver a broad range of IT services to the overall Fexco Group. These services include software development, project management and the overarching responsibility for the IT Infrastructure that supports all aspects of the Group’s business. The successful candidate will work as part of the software team designing, implementing and deploying solutions to our cloud computing platform. This is a highly technical hands-on role requiring the candidate to have extensive knowledge and experience in their field of expertise. Main Responsibilities: The design, development and deployment of cloud native software applications using continuous delivery & continuous deployment practices. Required to work in an agile environment, using agile development and infrastructure techniques with a strict emphasis on continuous integration and automated testing. Using a well-defined development process and adhering to code quality standards, responsibilities will include technical software design and the estimation of work packages. Continuously monitor quality and stability of technology stack delivered and proactively propose improvements and changes where required supported by data acquired from system feedback. Expected to work with other members of your team to investigate feature requests, perform detailed analysis, create specifications, build, test and implement new functionality. Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change. Competencies/Experience Required: Post graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field. Strong Java skillset with knowledgeable experience of other JVM based languages, preferably Scala or similar. Knowledge of standard architectural design patterns, TDD and Test Automation. Understanding of Event Sourcing, CQRS, stream programming and designing and implementing micro-service oriented architecture. Experience building cloud native applications with a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP) using IaC cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform. Understanding of Linux containers and container orchestration with Kubernetes. Knowledge in front end Javascript and Typescript programming (AngularJS, NodeJS) as well as tests frameworks (Protractor, Cypress) for e2e and Functional testing. Experience of NoSQL databases (Apache Cassandra, MongoDB. The ability to command respect and to create a working environment of collaboration amongst the members of the project teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
