Position: General Services Manager. Type: Full time, permanent. Sector: Elderly care. Location: Co. Kerry. Reporting to: Director of Nursing. My client, a well established nursing home in Co. Kerry, is currently recruitment for an experienced General Services Manager to manage and coordinate support services in the nursing home, with a strong focus on ensuring excellent customer service to residents, their families and service users. The role is responsible for enhancing the hospitality and quality standards, hygiene and safety of the home. You will have the following qualifications and experience: -Min 3 years experience in hospitality management, social/residential care, administration, catering and cleaning. -Third Level Qualification to underpin the skills required for the role. -Strong Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills. -Sound decision making ability and results driven. -Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative. -Ability to work well and promote a team environment. -Good appreciation of finance issues. -Ability to identify good practices in hygiene, catering and hospitality. Your overall responsibility will include: Management of support services of the home to include Administration, Catering, Cleaning, Laundry and Maintenance. This position is responsible for ensuring that the home maintains a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, catering and physical appearance. Work with the Director of Nursing (Person in Charge) to build a strong team and environment in the home. Organisation and oversight of the daily operations of the nursing home. Coordinating and supervising support staff members and leading them by example to ensure the highestservices. Management of budgets and expenditure. Participate in the selection and interviewing of staff. Conduct regular communication and planning meetings with staff reporting to this position. Measuring the effectiveness of the service provided by conducting audits and meeting Key Performance Indicators. Ensuring that the environment and facilities in the home are maintained to a high standard of comfort for the residents and providing a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to the home. Administration responsibilities. Catering responsibilities. Cleaning, Laundry and Maintenance responsibilities. Overall standards, health and safety and compliance.
