I am currently recruiting for a permanent Group Accountant, based in Kerry. This person will initially lead the annual statutory financial statements process but will progress quickly to play a part in the consolidation of results and in management reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody with a strong practice background looking to transition in to an industry role, allowing the person the opportunity to use his or her existing experience to add value while developing a new skill set. Main Responsibilities: • Responsible for statutory reporting including management of the Group audit process to ensure timely completion of all audits and satisfactory resolution of any technical or logistical challenges arising. • Preparation of consolidated results for the Group under the guidance of more senior team members and drafting of the consolidated financial statements for the Group. • Ensuring technical accuracy of the consolidation process - including accounting for acquisitions, disposals, changes in ownership etc. • Preparation of management and statutory accounts for less complex entities within the Group. • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of company statutory accounts prepared by subsidiary companies within the Group. • Providing technical accounting assistance to the wider finance function and across the Group, including analysis of impact of new accounting standards. • Liaising with Group Legal and Tax on statutory, regulatory and taxation reporting requirements. • Compilation/completion of adhoc reports, forms and questionnaires for both internal and external purposes. • Progressing to support wider Group Finance team in production of financial analysis for Exec, Board and third parties. • Support and deliver on finance projects including improvement of controls and processes across the Group and other adhoc projects as required. Competencies/Experience Required: Professional Accounting Qualification with recent experience in a Big 4 firm preferred; Applicants with more significant post qualification experience in industry required to be currently employed in statutory reporting roles; Extensive statutory reporting experience, both at a consolidated and single entity level; Experience in group consolidations and external reporting under IFRS; Strong technical accounting background; High standards with attention to detail critical in all aspects of output; Effective planning and organising skills with the ability to work on own initiative and co-ordinate workload; High level of drive, commitment and self-motivation; Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate across all levels of the Group; Experience of HFM and Oracle E Business Suite an advantage; Note that applicants with extended notice periods or due to qualify in November 2018 will also be considered.
