General Manager for Vibrant Kerry Deluxe Hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a strong team, while ensuring that the hotel and companies objectives are attained. We are looking to recruit an ambitious, energetic individual who wants progress and who has a desire to work in a rooms & food & beverage orientated hotel business. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they have the desire and ability to work in a fast changing and dynamic company. The General Manager is expected to actively get involved in sales within their local market and take responsibility for ensuring the companies budget is achieved through their own and colleagues on-going sales initiatives and activity. This is a unique opportunity for a person who has excellent people skills and proven customer facing skills as this role is very hands on operational. Not an office GM required. To be successful as, you should have a passion for excellence and training and have a proven track record of success in the hotel industry at a senior level. Understanding your local business environment, showing eagerness to target local companies for their business. Managing and controlling the costs of your business. Ensuring compliance with cash handling, accounts, licensing, company property, security and stock procedures in your hotel. Holding regular meetings with your team in order to encourage open communication at all levels and ensure they understand what is important for the success of your hotel. Developing and managing your team through regular feedback and reviews, agreeing action plans and timescales for follow up. Ensuring your team consistently maintains company brand standards and expectations through utilization of company policies and procedures. Ensuring your team deliver and recognise the importance of great customer service in line with company best practice. Recruiting and inducting the right people for your team in line with company policy and providing on-going development to help them reach their full potential. Analysing and benchmarking the performance of your hotel, sharing best practice, and driving on-going improvements in all areas. Liaising with Human Resources to ensure that all legislation is adhered to within your hotel, including employment law, health and safety, food hygiene, etc… Being friendly and helpful at all times, leading by example. Treating your colleagues in a fair and friendly way. Skills & Experience. Be commercially aware, sales and target driven; You must be passionate about customer service; Must have at least 3-5 years relevant experience at a General Manager Level in a 4*/5* Star Hotel ( Candidates with Strong Deputy/Operations may also be considered. You should be a team player and able to work on your own initiative; You must have people management experience; You should come from a customer facing background; Have proven planning and organising skills; Be proficient in computer skills and knowledge of the opera reservation systems; Be fluent in spoken and written English.
